Sustainability

We wanted to share some of our philosophy for producing and running hálo as sustainably as possible whilst reducing our carbon footprint.

We want to sustain the value of our products and the trust of our customers. Small production series and avoiding over-production allows us to keep selling the items without a warehouse clearance when the season changes.

All our fabrics come from Europe. We try to find the best quality from nearby.

At the moment, our GOTS, Oeko-TEX 100, Global recycled standard and Vegan certificated fabrics come from Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Lithuania and Turkey.

In an industry this consumptive, we think the least we can do is to prefer recycled, environment-friendly and unrefined natural materials. Sometimes when it is crucial for the design, we have to choose a manmade material, which in some cases might make the product last even longer. For this reason, we tend to prefer 100% pure materials so they are totally recyclable.

All our pieces are produced by carefully and responsibly hand-picked manufacturers inside Europe. We seek for the small businesses, who we can relate to and trust their work ethics and quality of work. We are weekly if not daily in contact with our factories.

Responsible fashion is a journey and our aim is to never be perfect and commit to continuously choosing the best alternatives.

We believe it is all about the transparency and trust.

Lapland has the purest and cleanest air in the world. (WHO, 2016) As a Lappish brand, with our choices, we aim to keep it that way.
